Taylor's first bodybuilding comp, 1990 at 35 years
Taylor started weight training and fitness in her late 20`s after she had three children and wanted to try and get her body and self esteem back into good condition. She joined a fitness centre with the usual ‘qualified personal trainer” and as usual found out she was not getting results and of course wasting her time , money and effort, then she heard about a bloke called Laurie Butler who was getting fantastic results for his clients so she joined his gym called SUPERSHAPE in Bendigo and went on his Unique TOTAL BODICARE personal training exercise and diet program for a couple of years and experienced the difference that doing it properly made. Laurie was so impressed with her attitude he offered her part time work and started teaching her how to train other people. Then she told Laurie she wanted to do competition Body Building and entered her first contest in 1990 and placed second and after many contests over the years she went on to win the Best Body in The World contest –MISS UNIVERSE in England in1999. 10 international judges placed her first unanimously. No other Australian woman has done so since. She was 45 years old.
